Engine Type: PCR 2.3 K9K and K9K Euro 5
Make and Models: Nissan Qashqai, Nissan Tilda, Renault Clio, Megane, Modus and Scenic
The K9K engine range was co-developed by Nissan and Renault. It is a range of 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engines with differing power outputs depending on which Euro standard they meet i.e. Euro 3, Euro 4 or Euro 5. After the joint development of the engine, it was put into production in 2001 and as of April 2013 over 10 million engines had been sold. No less than three countries manufacture the K9K - Turkey, India and Spain. With it’s relatively low power output – the lowest being 65 bhp – the engine has seen service in relatively small, lightweight vehicles such as the Renault Modus and the Renault Clio, although it has also been used in the Dacia Logan and Sandero models.
This diesel unit has been developed over the years to satisfy Euro 5 requirements so engine noise was reduced as was NOx levels, while at the same time, improving torque output.
If you have a K9K 1.5 diesel fuel pump and/or injectors that requires reconditioning, we would be happy to help. As with all reconditioning work we undertake, we will use brand new parts. If you don’t have a part to exchange, please call us as we may well have the diesel fuel pump you need in stock.
Engine Type: PCR 2.3 Lynx
Make and Models: Ford C-Max, S-Max, Mondeo, Galaxy, Transit Connect
This 1.8 litre diesel engine is part of Ford’s Duratorq range of engines. Duratorq is the marketing name for the engines that first appeared in the Ford Mondeo in the year 2000. This 1.8 engine is an intercooled common rail diesel that is a significantly improved version of the Endura -D engine that was available in Ford vehicles on the 1980’s and 1990’s. It is, therefore, an engine based on tried and trusted build and components.
The 1.8 litre engine was only really used in Ford vehicles, but it has an excellent reputation for the quality of its build and reliability, and overall very few issues have ever been reported about the engine. Consequently, the 1.8 litre diesel engine is well known for doing significant mileages as long as they are well looked after and frequently serviced. The Mondeo, particularly, is well known for pounding motorways reliably with very few problems.
Fuel pumps for the 1.8 diesel engine are held in stock as it was such a popular engine, but if you have a pump or injectors that simply needs to be reconditioned, we can turn that around within 48 hours from receipt of the unit.
Engine Type: PCR 2.3 Lion V6
Makes and Models: Citroen C6, Peugeot 407, and 607, Range Rover Sport, Landrover Discovery, Jaguar S -Type and Jaguar XJ.
This 2.7 litre engine is part of the ‘Lion’ family of engines. It was developed and built at Ford Dagenham’s Diesel Engine centre and was for use in Peugeot and Citroen models, as well as Jaguar (who Ford owned at the time) and Land Rover vehicles. The engine – which is a V6 configuration – was launched in 2004 and it meets the Euro IV emission standards. A 3 litre variant, based on the 2.7 litre, was added in 2009. The engine has a compacted graphite iron construction for its block which was highly innovative at the time. As standard the 2.7 litre engine had twin turbo’s and 4 valves per cylinder, but Land Rover installed a large capacity single turbocharger which is considered more appropriate for the characteristics required of its vehicles.
In 2011 a Bosch pump and fuel injector system was introduced on the 2.7litre engine, and at the same time the models that the engine was used in changed to the Landrover Freelander, the Range Rover Sport, and the X Type Jaguar.
Engine Type: Lion V8
Makes and Models: Land Rover Freelander and Range Rover Sport
Like its 2.7 litre sibling, the 3.6 litre Lion V8 was built in Essex at Ford’s Dagenham plant. This is a powerful engine using, as it does, twin turbo’s and it began production in April 2006.
The engine saw use primarily in the Land Rover Freelander, the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models, and it developed 268 bhp.
The engine has been possibly used in two particular vehicles in the US – the Ford 150 Pick Up truck and the Ford Expedition SUV. For the purposes of these vehicles, however, the 3.6 litre engine would be enlarged to 4.4 litres.
Ford’s Cleveland engine plant has started small scale production of the compacted graphite iron block with the potential of full-scale production eventually.
Engine Type: DW10TD
Make and Models: Citroen C5, Peugeot 307, Peugeot 406, Peugeot 407, Citroen Xsara, Citroen Berlingo, Suzuki Vitara and the Peugeot Partner.
This is a relatively old engine now, superseded in the year 2000 by the 2 litre 4 valve diesel engine that saw service in the Citroen C5 and the Peugeot 607. The Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner are small vans used mainly for commercial purposes. The Suzuki Vitara is a Sports Utility Vehicle.
There is still demand for replacement fuel pumps and injectors for the above brands and models of vehicle, and we will either have them in stock, or be able to order them for you for next day delivery. Alternatively, we will able to repair your existing units on a fast turnaround.

The engine used in these vehicles is a 1.4 HDi 8 valve common rail diesel engine with a power output of 54 bhp. The Toyota Aygo and the Peugeot and Citroen cars were developed in a joint venture between the PSA (Peugeot – Citroen) Group and Toyota and the cars were first shown at the Geneva motor show in 2005. The engine has also seen service in Ford and Mazda cars too. The engine has proved to be a reliable unit, and with its relatively low power it has been used in the smallest cars in the Ford, Mazda, Toyota and PSA model ranges. The engine is economical, ensuring around 50 miles to the gallon regularly.
